Our muscles are responsible for every movement in our bodies, and they need to be in tip top shape to perform
their functions fluidly and with ease. It is critical to create symmetry in our muscles so that we do not injure ourselves
due to imbalance and weakness. Most injuries occur due to incorrect form and trying to lift beyond our current capability.
When performing any exercise with or without weights it is important to focus on working both sides of our bodies equally.
This requires conscious and deliberate movement going as slow as possible with each rep. This will create muscle fatigue
more quickly leading to greater gains in a shorter period of time. These gains do not necessarily mean greater mass, but rather
greater control of your body. A lot of my clients are suprised when they feel the sensation of specific muscles moving.
Often they say they have never felt this before, and are pleasantly surprised. When you have symmetry your movements will become
natural again. You won't be fighting against an imbalance on one side or another. We naturally lose this symmetry just going
about our lives. Either because of injury or habit we tend to favor one hand, one arm, a gimpy knee, bad back, a bad hip, etc.
By doing this we put a lot more stress on the side of our bodies compensating for these instabilities. If the injury does not
require surgery to correct the issue, oftentimes we can get relief and develop proper movement through targeted muscle work and massage.
I focus on movement and symmetry, and I have helped a lot of clients free themselves of pain that they have had for years.
