What does it mean to have a strong core?

To build and strengthen your core means exactly that. Your core is the foundation of your
body. It includes all the muscle groups from your neck down, especially the muscles deep inside that
allow you to stand up straight and maintain balance without struggling to do so. When you have a strong symmetrical
core your muscles will naturally pull your skeleton into proper alignment the way it is meant to be. Most of us today
have weak cores and you can see people all the time slumped over when they walk. You can have strong arms and legs, but
if your core is weak then you have no power. Again, your muscles are critical to prevent injury and without a strong core
you are almost guaranteed to injure your back and even make the chances of developing a hernia a lot more probable. The programs
I develop for my clients always have core building as an ongoing part of their training. Without a strong foundation even
the most beautiful house will collapse.
